Two-Step Vessel Verification
We follow a strict Two-Step Verification Process to ensure that each vessel listed on Boatur is authentic.
Vessel Documentation Verification
- Each listing application requires an up-to-date copy of the vessel's registration. This verifies proof of ownership, authenticity, and the vessel's current status.
Boatur QR Verification
- Hosts must upload two images of their unique Boatur QR code, printed and adhered to their vessel for scanning and verification. This assures guests of the vessel's authenticity.

Voyage Types
There are four voyage types that a guest can experience. You can find which voyage type each vessel will provide by looking at the vessel information section located directly under the rating/review section on each vessel lisiting page.
Self Guided
- A traditional rental experience, you operate the vessel.
Captain Available
- For an additional $100/day you can hire a private Captain to operate the vessel for you.
Captained
- Either some vessels require a Captain, or an additional service is provided. In either case, a Captain will operate the vessel for you.
Chartered
- Similar to a Captained vessel, Chartered voyages are exclusively single day voyages that could be either Half Day or Full Day.
QR Placement Help
To avoid an application rejection we ask that at least one image that you upload in your vessel application contains your Boatur QR code positioned beneath (or near) the Hull Identification Number (HIN). With these two identifiers positioned in the same image, it allows our review team to validate your vessel and continue with the approval process.
Vessel Placement
- Download your personal Boatur QR code, and print it out large enough to be scannable from the photo. Physically adhere this QR to the applicable vessel by taping it beneath or near the Hull Identification Number (HIN). As seen In this image below.
Ideal Photo
- The ideal photo would have the QR printed large enough to be easily scannable from the image. Adhering the QR near the HIN helps avoid any issues in the application process. Try scanning the QR in the image below (from another device), you will be able to do the same with your photo to verify your QR is scannable. Once approved you may replace any images on your slideshow containing the QR code. You may also remove the QR code from your vessel, or leave it and use it to promote your Boatur Account!
Cancelations & Refunds
Boatur's mission, as a platform connecting Vessel Owners and Guests, is to have more people enjoying time on the water! While we aim for the success of every voyage, we recognize that this may not always be the case. In such instances, we encourage you to review the available options outlined below.
To initiate a cancellation or refund process, please navigate to the specific voyage's booking details. On the right-hand side, you will find the appropriate button. Please be aware that all cancelled/refunded bookings result in partial reimbursements.
Please refer to our Terms for further details.
Cancelations
- Either the Guest or Vessel Host can choose to cancel the voyage up until the predetermined voyage departure time, as selected by the Guest.
Refunds
- Refunds may be granted up to 24 hours following the predetermined voyage arrival time, as selected by the Guest.
Rain Checks
-
Boatur does not officially endorse rain checks, but Vessel Hosts have the discretion to offer them if Guests agree. While these situations are non-refundable, they can help address inconveniences such as adverse weather conditions.
Promotional Programs
At Boatur, we offer exciting opportunities for everyone to earn extra income, whether or not you have a vessel listed on our platform. Whether you’re a boat owner seeking more bookings or know boat owners interested in renting out their vessels, our promotional programs are designed to help you embark on a profitable venture. Explore our programs below—we look forward to welcoming you aboard!
Please refer to our Terms for further details.
Boatur Ambassador
- As a Boatur Ambassador, you play a pivotal role in expanding our community by introducing boat owners to the Boatur platform. Leveraging your creativity and networking skills, you’ll connect with potential hosts and showcase the numerous benefits of listing their vessels with us. For every vessel you successfully onboard, you’ll earn a percentage of the host’s share of the booking fee*. Additionally, Boatur rewards hosts who connect with our Ambassadors by offering a reduction in platform fees for each booking made**.
-
*Ambassador Commissions: Ambassadors will earn a commission rate of 2.5% of the Host’s share for each booking, available when the Host activates the discount for the duration of the applicable promotional campaign.
**Host Discounts: Hosts referred by Ambassadors will receive a 30% discount on the Boatur Platform Fee per booking, available when the discount is active and for the duration of the applicable promotional campaign.
Hosts must activate the promotion for these commissions and discounts to apply. Activation can be done from the specific vessel’s edit page. Commissions and discounts will only apply to bookings made after the discount is activated and for the duration of the applicable promotional campaign. Bookings made prior to activation or after the discount expiration will not qualify for discounts and commissions, and the Boatur Platform Fee (Boatur's Fee) will revert to its standard rate as outlined in the terms.
The initial promotional program period for Boatur Ambassadors will expire on December 31, 2025. After this period, ongoing Ambassador Referral programs will be available from the date the listing is created and will last for three months. Upon the expiration of the promotional period, both the Ambassador’s commission and the Host’s discount rates will end, and the Ambassador will no longer be affiliated with the referred vessel. The Boatur Platform Fee (Boatur's Fee) will revert to its standard rate as outlined in the terms.
Please note that these rates and promotional periods are subject to change.
Referrer
-
As a Boatur Referrer, your primary goal is to connect guests with hosts on the Boatur platform. By leveraging your network and outreach skills, you can encourage guests to book vessels listed by the hosts you are connected with. The more vessels a host has, the more opportunities you have to earn. For every guest booking you facilitate, you will receive a percentage of the host’s share of the booking fee*.
Hosts benefit significantly by partnering with referrers, gaining access to a broader network and increasing their booking potential. Connecting with ideal referrers, such as bait shops, hotels, or realtors, can drive promising results.
-
*Referrer Commission: Referrers will earn a commission rate of 1% of the Host’s share for each booking, applicable when the Guest enters the specific Referrer’s promo code at checkout.
Promotions are managed by the Host, who has the sole discretion to determine the promo code, the affiliated Referrer, the discount amount, and the duration of the promotion. Hosts can edit or delete promotions at any time before the expiration of their created promotion, including changes to the promo code, discount amount, and/or promotion duration.
Guests must enter the promo code in the designated field at checkout within the promotional campaign period for commissions or discounts to apply. Bookings made before the promotion is created or after it has expired will not qualify for its discounts or commissions.
Upon the expiration of the promotion, both the Referrer’s commission and the Guest’s booking discounts will end, and the Referrer will no longer be affiliated with the referred vessel. The Host’s fee will revert to its standard rate.
Please note that the commission rate is subject to change.

Refresh Cache
- If an app or website is not functioning properly, the first step (after checking your internet connection) is to clear your cache and history. 1. Open the browser you installed the Boatur app from recommended browser: Chrome
