Creating A Vessel Listing

Welcome to Boatur, a peer-to-peer boat rental platform facilitating connections between boat owners and enthusiasts of nautical adventures. Transform your idle watercraft into a lucrative income source by listing it for rent on our platform. This guide will navigate you through the process of creating an enticing listing and getting it approved, thereby paving the way for a supplementary revenue stream.

Create A Boatur Account

Start by creating a Boatur account, whether you're an individual, captain, or a business. If registering as a business, input a team member's name, followed by your company name in the "Boatur Name" field. Captains will be able to add credentials at a later stage from their user account page. Remember to provide a frequently used email address for all Boatur related communication. Although not mandatory, a Boater Safety ID is highly encouraged. Once all necessary fields are filled, click Create new account. After completing the final account activation step which will be sent to the provided email, you're ready to craft your inaugural listing!

Create Your First Listing

Access the Host Portal, and My Boatur QR, by tapping on mobile or selecting it from the side menu . Aside from your vessel application, you can use your Boatur QR to promote your vessel and Boatur Account. The Host Portal will contain all relevant information for managing your vessel bookings; to list your vessel, click + Create Listing.

Please have two photos of your vessel with your Boatur QR code ready for our two-step verification process. Fill in all required fields, ensuring the information matches your vessel registration documents. Note: vessels listed on Boatur must be no older than 30yrs. If you have a Captain’s license, you can select the type of voyage for your guests. A Boatur Estimated Rate, based on successful bookings of similar vessels, will appear; this is only a guide - you decide what to charge.

Refueling and Cleaning fees are optional. A cleaning fee covers preparation costs, while a refueling fee allows guests to return the vessel without refueling. We strongly recommend setting a refueling fee, as studies have shown that many accidents occur while navigating through marinas where most refueling takes place, also setting a fee avoids any potential invoice disputes from Guests not refueling the vessel.

Two essential components for obtaining successful booking conversions are the Vessel Slideshow and Description. They offer potential guests a glimpse into their anticipated experience. For the slideshow, upload two images with your Boatur QR code. Upon approval, replace these with more enticing representations of your vessel, allowing up to eight images in total. Create a captivating description that best describes your vessel and mirrors the experience you envision for your guests. Creativity is paramount; this is your opportunity to highlight your vessel's unique charm. The optional Host Rules field enables you to outline any specific rules for your vessel, such as no smoking/vaping, or water sport accessible. Lastly, for the vessel-finder map, choose an eye-catching image and designate the location where your vessel can be found. This may include a local boat ramp, marina dock slip, or your backyard, provided it falls within your registered State, and the City where it actually can be found.
