Is Boatur Right for You?
Instead of asking if renting makes sense, consider what really matters—control, security, and earning potential. Answer these questions to see if Boatur fits your boating lifestyle.
1. How do I currently cover maintenance costs?
Boats require ongoing upkeep. Would occasional rentals help offset these expenses?
2. Do I have concerns about strangers using my boat?
List your biggest concerns—insurance, renter screening, safety—and see how Boatur ensures verified renters and full owner control over every booking.
3. What would make renting my boat worthwhile?
If you had full control over pricing, availability, and renter approvals, would that make a difference?
Safety & Protection: Is Your Boat in Good Hands?
Deciding to list your vessel for rent can feel overwhelming, but Boatur is designed with boat owners in mind. Here’s how we ensure your boat stays safe and in trusted hands:
1. Who can operate my boat?
Only renters with a valid Boater Safety ID can operate vessels on Boatur, ensuring they meet safety and competency requirements.
2. How does Boatur protect my boat?
Every rental includes a Voyage Departure & Arrival Waiver, so both owners and renters confirm the vessel’s condition before and after use. Plus, Voyage Insurance (Coming Soon) will add another layer of security.
3. What if something goes wrong?
Boatur is committed to peace of mind—from renter screenings to built-in protections like waivers and upcoming insurance coverage. You’re never obligated to accept a rental you’re not comfortable with.

“Boating is about freedom, adventure, and community. Boatur lets boat owners share that experience while keeping full control over their vessel—turning an untapped opportunity into a rewarding voyage.”

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Boatur safe for boat owners?
Yes. Renters must be ID-verified, and guests who operate a vessel are required to have a valid boater ID. Hosts also review renters, and you approve every booking request.
Can I remove my listing later?
Absolutely. You can pause, update, or remove your listing anytime before confirming a rental.
Do I have to accept every rental request?
No. You decide which bookings to accept—just like Airbnb hosts do.
How much can I actually earn?
Depending on your boat and location, some owners earn hundreds per rental. You set your own rates and availability.
What if something happens to my boat?
We're actively working on a voyage insurance solution to better protect owners. You're never obligated to accept a booking you're not comfortable with.
What if a renter damages my boat?
Boatur requires renters and owners to complete a Voyage Departure & Arrival Waiver at the start and end of each rental. This process documents the vessel’s condition and ensures any issues can be traced to the responsible party. Plus, our upcoming Voyage Insurance will add another layer of protection.
How do I make sure my boat is only rented by responsible operators?
Renters must have a valid Boater Safety ID, and boat owners approve each rental request before confirming a booking.
Can I set specific rules for renters?
Absolutely! You control rental terms, availability, pricing, and the acceptable activities renters can engage in while using your vessel. This ensures your boat is used exactly how you want while maintaining a smooth rental experience.
